Originally from Sydney, Australia, Mark has spent over 14 years working in the drinks and hospitality sector. Starting out his career back home in Oz, Mark decided to relocate to the UK, where he trained and worked as a sommelier, before undertaking a BA (Hons) in International Wine Business. After his studies, Mark spent 3 years working as an Account Manager in central London, working with some of the best bars and restaurants in the capital.
After a short trip to visit the distillery with his colleagues in April 2019, Mark relocated from London to the beautiful Isle of Jura with his partner Estelle and their dog Buster and is now based at the Distillery.
On island, Mark looks after our visitor experience at the distillery. Whether it be a distillery tour, a whisky tasting, a hike up the Paps or a wee half hour perusing the shelves in the shop, Mark and his team are passionate about delivering an unforgettable visit to the island. Mark specialises in tasting and brand education sessions which can be booked on and offline.
“As soon as I stepped off the ferry, on my first ever visit to Jura, I fell in love with the island, community and whisky. Upon returning to London, it took me five minutes to convince my partner (and greyhound) to pack up our lives and head back to Jura!”
